Electrical Engineering Department was established in the year 1996, approved by AICTE New Delhi and affiliated to SAVITRIBAI PHULE PUNE UNIVERSITY (formerly Pune University).
In the year 2003, Department of Electrical Engineering was accredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi for 3 years.
In the year 2011, Department of Electrical Engineering was accredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi for 3 years.
In the year 2019, Department of Electrical Engineering was accredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi for 3 years.
Department is equipped with the state of art equipments and Laboratories with excellent computational facilities including professional software packages such as

Quality technical education is imparted to the students in the area of Electrical Engineering.
The Department has Established Young member section of IET (UK) and student’s chapter of IEEE (USA).
Department is headed by Prof (Dr) B. E. Kushare with his graceful experience of 25 years in teaching, R & D and Consultancy. The Department has qualified, devoted team of teaching members. The various faculties of the department have presented/ published papers in National/International conferences, National/International journals. The students of the department have presented papers/ participated in various National level events and won the prizes. Many students of second year, third year, final year topped the university examination with rank 1 to 11. For all round development of the students various expert lectures/workshop, technical tours/industrial visits, Soft Skill workshop, are organized in various areas of Electrical Engineering and allied fields regularly. The academic results at various university examinations are excellent. Many multinational companies come to conduct campus placement and around 60 to 80% of the students get campus placements. Department of Electrical Engineering offers Post Graduate courses ME(Electrical) Power systems and ME(Electrical) Control Systems in addition to Undergraduate course BE(Electrical Engineering) in two shift
Department of Electrical Engineering offers testing consultancy and training services in the area of electrical design, power quality, condition monitoring, energy management and audit. The major equipments available for consultancy services are HIOKI 3196 power quality analyzer, IR Imager, combustion analyzer, flue gas analyzer, breaker timing kit, relay testing kit and many other equipments.

To accelerate R & D activities department has started postgraduate Programme in Electrical Engineering with control system specialization with 18 intake in 2007-08 and Research Recognized center in the year 2008-09.
Five staff members of the departments are pursuing Ph.D. Programme in various areas in Electrical Engineering.
Department has completed MOD ROB and minor research projects funded by AICTE and University Grant Commission, New Delhi, SERC fellowship of Department of Science and Technology.
Department is proactive in organizing workshop/seminar funded by various funding agencies as well as self supported in the area of power quality, energy management and audit, condition monitoring of electrical equipments, recent trends in switchgears, MATLAB, ETAP/PSCAD, Robotics, Emerging Trends in Smart Grid and software training every year. One of the mega event organized by the department is the National level project competition KARMVEER EXPO which is supported by IET, UK, around 500 to 600 students participate every year
Department of Electrical Engineering aims to establish center of excellence in various areas of electrical engineering such as Power Quality, Energy management, audit, conditioning monitoring and to offer value added services to industries as well as society.
