K K Wagh Education Society
K K Wagh Education Society was established in 1970 by the visionary leader, Late Padma Shri Karmaveer Kakasaheb Wagh. He realized the importance of education for the upliftment of rural masses and started with a girls’ school in Niphad Tehsil.
Earlier, he was active in the development of Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, which has been established as a centre of learning for over 100 years. He was also instrumental in setting up three cooperative sugar factories in the Nashik district. As a leader of farmers, he represented Niphad Tehsil in the state legislative assembly.
K K Wagh Education Society, later on, received 23 acres of land from the well-known Philanthropist, Late Ratansey Haridas Udeshi (Kakuseth) of Hirabai Hansaraj Surji Charitable Trust and was utilized by K K Wagh Education Society to establish an ideal Technical Campus.
This campus is named ‘Hirabai Haridas Vidyanagari’ in the name of his mother, ‘Hirabai Haridas’.
The late Shri. Balasaheb Wagh, alias Bhau (1932-2022), was a visionary, a great humanitarian and a quintessential reformer who has left behind an impeccable paradigm of selflessness and dedication. Padma Shri Karmaveer Kakasaheb Wagh alias Deoram Wagh
Kakasaheb alias Deoram Wagh was born on 26th October 1898 into a respectable agricultural family of Bajabai and Sayaji Wagh in Ranwad Village of Nashik District.
His education in Nashik during his formative years was cut short by the infamous epidemic (1914–15), which wreaked havoc on the region and forced young Deoram to return to his village in Ranwad. Although his homecoming hindered his study, it was actually a blessing in disguise. It planted the seeds of social work that would flourish and become a mission of his life’s work in the years to come. Young Kakasaheb was inspired to engage in the field of education for the masses—the “Bahujan,” who had been primarily denied the privilege by the socio-cultural and economic systems of that time. He pioneered the establishment of Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj and other educational institutions in and around Nashik, motivated by progressive figures such as Rajashri Shahu Maharaj, Sayajirao Gaikwad Maharaj, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil and Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh.
Late Balasaheb Devram Wagh alias Bhau
The late Shri. Balasaheb Wagh, alias Bhau (1932-2022), was a visionary, a great humanitarian and a quintessential reformer who has left behind an impeccable paradigm of selflessness and dedication. He devoted his life to uplift rural masses and made remarkable contributions in various fields, including agriculture, social work, the cooperative sector, education, fine arts, sports, forestation and water conservation, to name a few.
He was born into the legendary family of Padma Shri Awardee Karmaveer Kakasaheb Wagh and Smt. Geetai Wagh. His personality blossomed in the influential company of his able father’s reputable and progressive friends, associates and well-wishers, notably Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hire, Padma Bhushan Awardee Vasantdada Patil, Karmaveer Dadasaheb Gaikwad, Krantisinh Nana Patil, Gyanpeeth Awardee Kavi Kusumagraj and grandfather Sayaji Wagh. He was associated with and worked for the betterment of various industries, notably the Nashik District Central Co-operative Bank, Deccan Sugar Technologists Association, Deccan Sugar Institute (now VSI Vasantdada Sugar Institute, Pune), National Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd., and Distillation Association of Maharashtra.
Late Shri. Kakusheth Udesh
Late Shri. Kakusheth Udesh comes from a philanthropic family. He has donated land for religious places for the construction of Dharmashalas as well as healthcare facility projects for serving poor and needy people.
His commitment has consistently aimed at uplifting the downtrodden. Hirbai Hansraj Charitable Trust has provided 23 acres of land to the K K Wagh Education Society for educational purposes. Shri. Kakusheth played a significant role in this transaction. This endeavour has enabled over 36,500 students to date to access technical education at Hirabai Haridas Vidyanagari, paving the way for them to lead successful and settled lives.
